Clinical Impact

This research could have amazing clinical applications as it would allow broken bones to be repaired by having supports glued to them instead of screwing in and damaging healthy bone. This would need a large amount of clinical trials as it would need to be biocompatible and the degradation rate and effects of the glue would need to be studied.

Scientific Impact

This technology might drive future research and innovation in the field of polymeric biomaterials by inspiring biomimicry in other areas to create more sustainable solutions. This research is very interdisciplinary as it combines marine science, construction, and medical applications and could serve as inspiration for additional collaboration in these areas.
